explainer · intro · dated
Andreas Antonopoulos answers a question about how to secure your Bitcoin. He covers holding your own keys, backing up the 12 to 24 word seed phrase, and the tradeoffs of custodial accounts, phone wallets and hardware wallets.
HN recommends it as a clear explanation of self-custody and of why to move coins off exchanges.

Didn't have a multisig BTC wallet before (created one in the past, but deleted it months ago) and I don't seem to be able to add another multisig wallet - only those multi-email-confirmation-required wallets. Not holding the keys for my own coins is not an option (see ▶ this video for why), but at least there are alternatives such as Ledger hardware wallets.
