Although they generally didn't compete in the 4kb genre, Farbrausch open-sourced many of their demos and demo-making tools a few years ago [1]. fr-041: Debris [2], and kkrieger [3] (the 96kb FPS) are particularly worth checking out for the uninitiated. [1] [link] [2] ▶ this video [3] [link]

Farbrausch made the first demo I ever saw, a 2007 one called debris (fr-041): ▶ this video Super cool, and in an executable of 177kB.

If you want to really show off the demoscene, try Farbrausch - fr-041. It's comparatively very big (179KB), but impressive how they were able to squeeze so much stuff there: video ▶ this video , official repository: [link] . If you want to dig deeper, Farbrausch published most of their material and tools last year including the source code for fr-041. Search for farbrausch on GitHub. But I must say, it's pretty hardcore.

Farbrausch's "debris." shows just how much you can pack into 200k (including the audio, btw). ▶ this video For the webby crowd: "Masagin" features animated, recursive SVGs with antialiasing and motion blur at high rez and high frame rate. [link] Or, you could download both demos from [link] and run them on your own PC.

> "one guy" sir, that's no way to refer to farbrausch here is their Breakpoint 2007 demo, a 177 Kb executable including 3d assets and textures. ▶ this video

It's a cute little demo that's only basically 1MB all in. That said, I don't think it's the best for this group - they've done more in far less before. ▶ this video for example, is an executable only 177KB big.

Ok fair point I shouldn't have been so glib as puet is pretty horrible from a web design standpoint. It's a website for the demoscene, where people do stuff like this ▶ this video in 177 kilobytes.

I always tought that the tiny hint of a narrative was why I've seen Debris[1] reach much more nerds than other demos, not its spectacularly small file size. [1] ▶ this video
