I guess this boils down to what your mean by "inspiring"; let me give you some of my favorites by category: > Movies about people doing stuff, usually investigating something - makes me want to get up and get stuff done [1] Cold Case Hammarskjöld - IMDB: [link] [2] Tickled - Trailer: [link] [3] Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles - Trailer: [link] (full movie is on Youtube, Too) [4] The Cove - Wikipedia: [link] > Movies about ... the human condition, human life on earth? IDK, but if you watch the trailer, you get what I mean. WARNING: Might evoke the urge to travel [1] Koyaanisqatsi - Wikipedia: [link] - Pruitt Igoe Scene: ▶ this video [2] Samsara - Trailer: [link] [3] Anthropocene - Trailer: [link] (Check out his other movie "Watermark", too!) > Movies about the work of particular people: [1] Playing God - Trailer: [link]

I like his well known Pruit Igoe/Koyaanisqatsi music ( ▶ this video ). But his recent work for a local small opera house named "Kepler" is off-putting ( [link] ).

> They open by quoting an October 18, 1957 editorial in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch which says: "If rooming houses are permitted to spread to the city's one- and two-family neighborhoods, there is not much use in talking brave words about fighting blight." RE: """blight""" — [link] "You can’t really understand Ferguson unless you understand J.D. Shelley. He was a middle-class black man from north St. Louis who in 1945 bought a home in a neighborhood just a few minutes east of Ferguson, unaware of the restrictive covenant that barred its sale to 'people of the Negro or Asian Race'. Alas, this move inflamed Louis Kraemer, who lived ten blocks away and was well aware of the covenant. Kraemer was temporarily vindicated when the Missouri Supreme court backed his lawsuit to enforce the covenant, but the United States Supreme Court overturned the Missouri ruling and forbade the state from enforcing such private agreements. In the wake of the Shelley v. Kraemer decision, blacks began to move out of crowded north St. Louis City, where many had been packed into high-rise projects such as the infamous Pruitt-Igoe, to north St. Louis County."
