[TAS] [Obsoleted] GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version "arbitrary code execution" by Fracta[...] in 03:14.15 on HackerTube: recommended by 1 Hacker News commenter across 1 month, 2013.
demo · intermediate · evergreen
A tool-assisted speedrun of Pokemon Yellow on Game Boy Color that uses glitches and frame-precise inputs to make the game execute an arbitrary program. It was later obsoleted by an improved run.
HN cites it as a showcase of memory-corruption exploits achievable using only normal controller inputs, often alongside other arbitrary-code-execution speedruns.

It's neat how many glitches people have found in these particular games. There's a Pokemon Yellow run which finishes the game in under a minute, without leaving the starting room: [link] There's also a run where someone executes arbitrary code in Pokemon Yellow: ▶ this video
